Corporate Racing

A memorable experience

'Teambuilding,' can be dismissed as management speak, until you feel the spray against your face, as the yacht surfs through the waves. Each crewmember is in position, eagerly anticipating the next manoeuvres of the opposing yachts. The concentration is intense, the skipper shouts 'tacking!' The crew spring into action, sheets are released, bowman and trimmers work together and the 'grinders' attack the winches. A tactical advantage has been gained. The crew reposition themselves, tactican and navigator exchange a rye smile and the race continues..........

Benefits of yacht racing

As a corporate activity sailing mirrors the model of an efficient business, given that a successful race is dependent on all its crewmembers working collectively. Considered an effective teambuilding sport, it requires good planning, communication, motivation and leadership skills to ensure a pleasurable and rewarding sail.

Corporate packages are available for a one, two and three-day racing or cruising programmes. Intended for those companies who are seeking a wonderful hospitality experience for ones’ client entertainment, a motivating team building activity or rewarding staff performance.

Racing programmes

  • RACE TRAINING DAYS' for a single boat charter
  • A MATCH RACE comprises of two yachts competing over a series of short courses. Similar to the America's Cup, each team battles it out in a fast and furious head to head. These races require strategic moves and counter moves, as each team is trying to block the opponents wind whilst avoiding penalties.
  • A FLEET RACE involves between three and eight yachts. Each team needs to employ good tactics, navigation and boat speed to complete this large complex course.
  • COMPANY REGATTAS require a minimum of three yachts to compete, although we can accommodate upto thirty-five yachts. Additionally we can organise a gala evening that includes a three course meal, wine and a prize giving at an exclusive yacht club.

Compete in major regattas

Parties of non-professional yachtsmen can participate in the prestigious regattas at Cork Week Racing Regatta, SkandiaCowes Week, the RORC Rolex Fastnet Campaign, Royal Dartmouth Regatta, Round the Island Race and events hosted by the Royal Offshore Racing Club (RORC).
